# Folders & tags

Two complementary systems:

- **Folders** — a link lives in exactly one folder (or none). Best for
  broad areas: *Marketing*, *Product*, *Personal*.
- **Tags** — a link can have many. Best for cross-cutting labels:
  `q3`, `social`, `paid`.

## Folders

The **Folders** page is the workspace: folder list with counts on the left,
links in the selected folder on the right. Move links either one at a time
(the folder dropdown on each row) or in bulk — select with checkboxes, pick a
destination folder, press **Move**. Create, rename, recolor, and delete
folders from **Manage folders**; deleting a folder never deletes its links.

## Tags

Create tags on the **Links** page (**New tag**), then attach them from any
link's edit view or the create dialog — tag pickers only offer existing tags,
which keeps naming consistent. Filter the links table by any combination of
tags.

Keep tags lowercase and short (`email`, not `Email-Campaigns-2026`) — you'll
thank yourself when filtering.
